Swanbourne
Holiday Club

We’re very excited to introduce our Brave Roots Forest School Holiday Club, running from 26th–28th October.

At Brave Roots, our holiday sessions are built around child-led adventure, creativity and time spent outdoors. Children will have the freedom to explore, make, build, cook and play in the woods, with plenty of opportunities to develop confidence, independence and practical skills along the way.

With autumn in full swing, we’ll be making the most of the season with a special focus on,

- Autumnal cooking over the fire.

- Exploring autumn colours and natural materials.

- Woodland crafts and creative projects.

- Den building, tool use and outdoor adventure.

- Halloween themed fun!

Every day will be slightly different, shaped by the children, the weather and what we discover in the woods.

Expect muddy boots, big imaginations and plenty of fun.

Activities include,

Fire lighting

Children will learn how to build and light a fire, gather the right materials and keep it going safely. There’s nothing quite like getting your first flame going in the woods!

Cooking

From warming snacks to creating simple seasonal dishes, children will get hands-on with outdoor cooking and enjoy the experience of preparing food together over the fire.

Den building

Working individually or as a team, children will use branches, leaves and natural materials to design and build their own woodland shelters.

Leaf Printing

Using leaves, natural pigments and simple printing techniques, children can create colourful patterns and artwork inspired by the woodland around them.

Nature exploration

There is always something new to discover in the woods. Children will have time to explore, investigate wildlife, follow their curiosity and learn more about the natural world.

Candle making

Children will have the chance to make their own simple candles, learning about the process while creating something they can take home and enjoy.
